Herbivorous Vs Carnivorous

Herbivores:
1. Their tongues are shaped sharply and cylindrically, so that they can manipulate the grass, and plant parts easily. So, they cannot lap up water leisurely.
2. When an animal is drinking water with its neck bent in an awkward position (like the impalas and giraffes), it is most vulnerable to predatory attacks than when with the head raised. So, they need to drink maximum water in minimum time, which is why sucking water is the most efficient way.
3. Most of the water required by the herbivores is provided by the food itself. Certain antelopes, Koalas, Pandas do not require to drink water at all.

Carnivores:
1. The shape of the tongues are flat rather than cylindrical enabling them to strip flesh by just licking (and the tongues are also like sandpaper). It is estimated that by just licking, a panther can empty out 40% of the meal. So, they need to lap up the water, than sucking in.
2. Most of the carnivores do not have to fear about other predators (either due to size as in lions and tigers, or due to the packs - like in hyenas and wild dogs). So, they have the luxury to leisurely lap up the water.
3. They eat flesh, which offers lesser amount of water, but require more water for digestion. Thus, they need more water.

Every 16 Days About 72% of You is Replaced

http://www.aquasanastore.com/water-you_c12.html
Balance is important to avoid dehydration and overhydration.

About 72% of the human body is H2O (liquid water). Every ~16 days nearly 100% of the water is exchanged in a healthy body. Heavy elements like carbon, sodium and potassium take occupancy far longer perhaps 8 months – 11 months. For example the calcium and phosphorus in bones are replaced in a dynamic crystal growth / dissolving process that will ultimately replace all bones in your body.

Other larger organs’ atomic replacement can be estimated:

• The lining in stomach and intestine every 4 days
• The Gums are replaced every 2 weeks
• The Skin replaced every 4 weeks
• The Liver replaced every 6 weeks
• The Lining of blood vessels replaced every 6 months
• The Heart replaced every 6 months
• The Surface cells of digestion, top layer cells in the digestion process from our mouth through
our large bowel are replaced every 5 minutes

This data was first pointed out by Dr. Paul C. Aebersold in 1953 in a landmark paper he presented to the Smithsonian Institute, “Radioisotopes – New keys to knowledge”
